About
Vadtal Swaminarayan Temple in Vadtal, Anand district, is one of the two main desh-vibhag temples of the Swaminarayan Sampraday — the supreme administrative and spiritual headquarters for the Ahmedabad and Vadtal dioceses. Founded personally by Swami Sahajanand Swami (Swaminarayan) in 1824, it remains the most sacred site for followers of the Vadtal Gadi.
The main shrine enshrines Lakshminarayan flanked by Radha-Revti Baldevji, with Swaminarayan's own original paduka (wooden footwear). The complex features multiple stone and marble shrines, ornate carved domes, and the largest assembly hall (satsang hall) in any Swaminarayan temple. The annual festivals — especially Janmashtami — draw over 2 lakh devotees from across Gujarat and the diaspora.
