Tiruchendur Murugan Temple is the second of the six abodes (Arupadaiveedu) of Lord Murugan, situated directly on the shore of the Gulf of Mannar. Celebrated in 2nd-century BCE Sangam literature, it features a towering 137-foot 9-tier Rajagopuram facing the ocean.
