About

BAPS Swaminarayan Mandir, Adalaj near Gandhinagar, Gujarat, is one of the most architecturally striking BAPS mandirs in the state, opened in 2017. Built primarily from white Carrara marble with accents of pink Rajasthani sandstone, the mandir features the characteristic BAPS style of intricate hand-carved pillars, ornate domes, and multiple shikhars.

Located adjacent to the famous Adalaj Step-well (a UNESCO-nominated monument), the mandir draws both pilgrims and tourists who visit the historic well. The complex includes a cultural exhibition, dharamshalas, and a food court. Like all BAPS mandirs, no iron, steel, or structural concrete was used in the main shrine construction — only stone, marble, and traditional adhesives.
