About
Standing majestically on the northern bank of the sacred Narmada River at Nemawar, the Siddheshwar Mahadev Temple marks the geographical midpoint or 'Nabhi Sthana' (navel point) of the Narmada. Constructed in the 11th century under the Paramara kings of Malwa, it is one of the most towering and complete representations of the Bhumija temple style, featuring star-shaped plinths, multi-tiered miniature spirelets (kutastambhas) ascending the shikhara, and an ancient subterranean garbha griha housing a swayambhu lingam.
