About

Shri Sai Baba Samadhi Mandir, Shirdi in Ahmednagar district, Maharashtra, is the most visited pilgrimage site in Maharashtra and one of the top 5 most-visited temples in India, drawing over 25,000 devotees daily. The shrine is dedicated to Sai Baba of Shirdi — a 19th-century saint (c.1838–1918) venerated equally by Hindus and Muslims, and widely regarded as an incarnation of Dattatreya.

The main samadhi mandir houses Sai Baba's white marble tomb-shrine. The large new stone mandap (sabha hall), completed in 2008, can accommodate 10,000 devotees simultaneously and is built from white Makrana marble and granite. The Sai Baba Sansthan Trust (one of the wealthiest temple trusts in India, with annual income exceeding ₹500 crore) has built extensive pilgrim facilities across 200 acres. The Dwarkamai mosque (a mosque where Sai Baba lived) and Chavadi are also within the complex.
