About

Shri Mahaveerji Jain Temple in Karauli district, Rajasthan, is the most important Jain pilgrimage site in Rajasthan outside of Dilwara, dedicated to Lord Mahavir (the 24th Tirthankara). The original 18th-century shrine was transformed into a grand white marble complex in the 19th-20th centuries through the collective efforts of Jain communities across Rajasthan.

The main temple features a tall Nagara marble shikhar, intricate marble jali screens, and elaborately decorated inner sanctums. The complex includes multiple shrines, a large pilgrim guesthouse, and a museum of Jain art. The annual Mahaveer Jayanti and Paryushana festivals draw Jain pilgrims from across India. The temple is considered a tirth (pilgrimage site) of the first rank for Digambara and Shvetambara Jains alike.
