About
Prem Mandir (Temple of Divine Love) in Vrindavan was built by Jagadguru Shri Kripalu Ji Maharaj and inaugurated in February 2012 after 11 years of construction. Built entirely from white Italian Carrara marble, it stands 54 metres tall and weighs 125,000 tonnes. It is renowned for its extraordinary night illumination and intricate carved panels depicting scenes from the life of Radha-Krishna and Ram-Sita.
The exterior features 94 carved panels of Raas Leela scenes, 84 panels of Krishna Leela, and a circumambulatory path with multiple life-size dioramas. Thousands of LED lights illuminate the structure after dark, creating a spectacle visible from across Vrindavan. Set amid 54 acres of landscaped gardens, it is the largest temple complex in the Braj region built in modern times.
