About
Mala Devi Temple is an architectural masterpiece of the 9th century Gurjara-Pratihara period, dramatically carved on an artificial stone terrace cut into the steep cliffside of a hill in Gyaraspur. Overlooking the valley below, this striking temple features an elaborately sculpted entrance porch, a multi-storeyed mandapa, and an elevated sanctum surmounted by an imposing shikhara. Initially a Brahmanical goddess shrine, it was adopted as a Jain sanctuary housing Tirthankara icons with Yaksha and Yakshini guardians.
