Kapaleeshwarar Temple, Mylapore

Kapaleeshwarar Temple is a revered Shaivite temple dedicated to Shiva as Kapaleeshwarar and his consort Parvati as Karpagambal. While the original temple dated to the 7th-century Pallava dynasty, the present structure was rebuilt by Vijayanagara rulers in the 16th century after coastal erosion and destruction.
