About
ISKCON Hare Krishna Land, Juhu, Mumbai was inaugurated in 1978 by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and is one of the most visited ISKCON temples in India, located in the affluent Juhu neighbourhood. The complex is built from stone and features a striking white temple with shikhars housing Radha-Rasabihari, Gaura-Nitai, and Sita-Rama-Lakshmana-Hanuman deities.
The Juhu ISKCON complex includes the Govinda's vegetarian restaurant (one of Mumbai's most popular), a guesthouse, and extensive gardens. Srila Prabhupada lived and stayed here during his India visits; his rooms are preserved as a museum. The temple is especially famous for its spectacular Ratha Yatra chariot festival procession through the streets of Mumbai, attracting lakhs of participants. Over 10,000 devotees visit on weekends.
