About

Birla Mandir, Jaipur — also called the Laxmi Narayan Mandir — stands atop Moti Dungri Hill and was built by the B.M. Birla Foundation, completed in 1988. Constructed entirely from white Makrana marble, the temple complex features three striking white marble shikhars that shimmer brilliantly in the Rajasthan sunshine.

The temple enshrines Laxmi Narayan (Vishnu and Lakshmi) as the main deities. The walls are inscribed with verses from the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Bible, and Quran. The interior features stained glass windows depicting scenes from Indian mythology — a unique touch for a Hindu temple. The temple glows beautifully when illuminated at night and is one of the most photographed landmarks of Jaipur.
