About

Birla Mandir, Hyderabad crowns the 280-foot granite Naubath Pahad hill overlooking the Hussain Sagar lake and the city of Hyderabad. Built by the Birla Foundation and completed in 1976, it took 10 years to construct and required 2,000 tonnes of white Rajasthani marble brought from Rajasthan.

The temple is dedicated to Venkateswara (Vishnu) in his Tirupati form, with additional shrines to Padmavati, Andal, and other deities. Its hilltop position makes it visible from across the city and offers panoramic views of Hussain Sagar. The marble glows golden at sunset, making evening visits particularly spectacular. Over 10,000 pilgrims visit daily, rising to 30,000 on weekends and festivals.
